We are looking for two Accountants to join our finance team in Macedonia.

Applicants should be experienced accounting professionals with strong attention to detail and confidence working in an international business environment. The successful candidates will support accounting and reporting activities across several group entities, including Macedonia, the UK, the US and Denmark.

The roles are primarily focused on internal accounting operations, financial control, reconciliations, invoice processing, payments, month-end close and reporting support, while working closely with internal stakeholders and external accounting/audit partners where required.

Because the roles support international entities and involve regular written and verbal communication with colleagues and partners abroad, fluent business English is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Day-to-day accounting and transaction processing

• Post and maintain accurate accounting entries in accounting systems for multiple legal entities.

• Ensure completed transactions are recorded correctly and on time.

• Support the maintenance of accurate accounting records in line with internal policies and reporting requirements.

• Review daily postings and ensure finance data is complete and accurate before period-end closing.

Accounts payable, invoices and payments

• Receive, review and process purchase invoices in a timely and accurate manner.

• Perform correct GL coding, cost centre allocation and tax coding for invoices.

• Ensure invoices are supported by appropriate documentation and approvals.

• Prepare and process supplier payments through banking platforms, including domestic and international payments.

• Maintain supplier master data, including banking, invoicing and tax details.

Employee expenses and payroll support

• Review and process employee expense claims in line with company policy.

• Monitor reimbursement requests and ensure timely payment.

• Support payroll preparation by collecting, checking and submitting required information to internal or external payroll providers.

Reconciliations and month-end close

• Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, supplier accounts, customer accounts and general ledger balances.

• Reconcile AP / AR statements and investigate differences.

• Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities.

• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for finance review and audit purposes.

• Support intercompany reconciliations and allocations where needed.

Reporting, budgeting and analysis

• Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting.

• Support budgeting and forecasting processes through data entry, validation and control.

• Prepare regular and ad hoc reports, reconciliations and analysis from accounting and spreadsheet data.

• Contribute to financial analysis that supports business performance and decision-making.

Compliance, controls and external coordination

• Apply appropriate DDV / VAT, withholding tax and other tax codes in line with legal requirements and internal rules.

• Ensure finance documentation is properly collected, organised, archived and available for audit or compliance reviews.

• Work with external accountants, auditors, tax advisers and banking partners where required.

• Support the maintenance of strong internal controls and accurate audit trails.

• Help improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy and ways of working across the finance function.

General finance support

• Work across accounting systems, banking platforms and Excel-based reporting files.

• Support the wider finance team with additional accounting and administrative tasks when needed.

• Handle day-to-day finance queries professionally and efficiently.

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.

• PLUS experience in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance Operations or AP/GL role.

• Good understanding of:

  • general ledger accounting

  • accounts payable / receivable

  • reconciliations

  • invoice processing

  • expense management

  • month-end closing

• Experience working with accounting software and online banking platforms.

• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data and spreadsheets.

• Fluent business English, both written and spoken.

• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

• Good organizational and time-management skills.

• Ability to manage several tasks and meet deadlines.

• Professional, reliable and discreet in handling sensitive financial information.

Preferred

• Experience working in an international company, shared services environment, or multi-entity finance function.

• Experience supporting accounting processes for entities in Macedonia and other countries.

• Familiarity with Macedonian accounting and tax requirements, including VAT / DDV and statutory documentation standards.

• Experience working with external accounting firms, auditors or payroll providers.

• Professional accounting certification or progress toward a professional qualification is an advantage.
