Role Overview

The Business Data Analyst collects, analyses, and interprets data to produce insights that shape business decisions and drive performance improvement across multiple stakeholder groups. The role owns recurring reporting and complex ad-hoc analysis end to end and helps evolve the established reporting and data framework, partnering with Marketing, Sales, Finance, Operations, and Product teams as a trusted advisor to inform decision-making and improve efficiency. This role requires an experienced, analytically strong professional with a strong eye for data quality, who works independently on ambiguous problems, and uses AI tools to accelerate and improve analytical output.

Main Responsibilities

  • Collecting data: Define data requirements with stakeholders and source, prepare and validate data from multiple systems and data sources, including where requirements are unclear or data spans several business areas.

  • Analysing data: Clean, transform and analyse complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, root causes and insights, setting and upholding standards for accuracy and consistency of outputs.

  • Delivering business insights: Summarise findings in clear, concise manner, explain what is driving business developments; flag risks and opportunities proactively; translate analysis into actionable recommendations and follow through on their adoption.

  • Collaborating with other teams: Partner with Marketing, Sales, Finance, Operations and Product to understand and anticipate their data needs, act as a trusted analytical advisor, and balance competing priorities to provide timely support.

  • Process improvement: Identify data quality, system and process improvement opportunities across the team’s areas of work, build the supporting business case, and drive implementation with the Business Analysis team and relevant stakeholders.

  • Supporting change: Lead the rollout and adoption of new reporting, tools and processes: assess and document impacts, coordinate updates to affected deliverables, and guide stakeholders through the transition.

  • Staying current: Keep up with developments in data analysis methods and tools. Champion the use of AI tools in daily work: data preparation, analysis, reporting, documentation and automation, to improve speed, depth and quality of output; identify and pilot new use cases, and share good practices with and coach colleagues across the team.

Job requirements

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • At least 5 years of experience in a data analysis or business intelligence role, with a proven track record of independently delivering complex, stakeholder-ready analysis that influences business decisions.

  • Experience in a SaaS or technology company is an advantage.

  • Experience in product analytics is an advantage.

  • Experience working with AI data products or applying AI tools in analytical workflows is an advantage.

Required Skills

  • Interprets complex data accurately and translates findings into clear, business-relevant insights and recommendations: able to explain analytical concepts and conclusions to non-technical and senior stakeholders without losing rigour.

  • Sets and maintains a high standard of data quality and accuracy: identifies and corrects inconsistencies before output reaches stakeholders.

  • Resolves complex data quality and integration issues independently, drives root-cause fixes with data owners, and judges when to escalate rather than continuing to work around a problem.

  • Curious about the business behind the numbers: asks the right questions, challenges assumptions, goes beyond the brief where the data warrants it, and leads the adoption of new methods and tools responsibly.

  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI or a comparable BI platform.

  • Advanced MS Excel skills.

  • Fluent English is required.

We welcome people who value teamwork, stick to their commitments and are curious to explore new ways for achieving mastery. If you believe that you are a good match for the job, just send us your CV in English.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Confidentiality of all applications is assured.
