The role involves supporting senior leadership in driving strategic initiatives and ensuring successful execution across the organization. Additionally, a key focus will be on sustainability projects in line with ESG goals and EU regulations. The individual will collaborate across departments, coordinate leadership meetings, and contribute to setting up internal processes.


The Chief of Staff & Corporate Sustainability Manager (m/f/d) plays a pivotal role in driving the strategic agenda of Chaos.

Reporting to our Head of Strategic Planning, you will act as a central interface to our executive leadership team and leaders across all departments to advance on our strategic objectives and ensure coherent reporting, targets and a coordinated implementation.

In your role as Chief of Staff, you will be crucial for our organizations day-to-day operations as well as lead complex and strategic cross-departmental initiatives.

As one key focus area, this role owns the Sustainability/ESG reporting of the Chaos requiring the development of a strategic roadmap to ensure compliance with the regulatory requirements and processes relevant to corporate ESG reporting in line with recognized EU CSRD standards.


In this highly strategic and interdisciplinary role, you will:


Role & Responsibilities

  • Oversee strategic business initiatives, from development through successful execution, under the guidance of senior leadership and department heads.
  • Assist and communicate with executives in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation.
  • Plan, lead and coordinate our executive leadership team's key meetings.
  • Own our strategic priorities and set the drum beat for our organization to ensure timely execution and success.
  • Actively support and lead various sustainability projects and programs in all three ESG areas, i.e. environment, social/employees and the implementation of existing as well as upcoming requirements on sustainability.
  • You will have a strong role in creating a strategic roadmap, implementing the requirements and set up necessary internal structures and processes for various projects, esp. related to EU requirements on sustainability reporting (CSRD, Taxonomy).
  • Proactive, cross-functional collaboration across the company; driving, discussing and aligning on strategic initiatives and ESG projects.
  • Utilize your creativity and provide innovative suggestions to advance the sustainability agenda and drive it forward.


Job requirements

  • University degree. (Master or diploma)
  • Strong strategic thinking and project management skills, with experience in a cross-functional role, preferably in an international group setup.
  • Entrepreneurial thinking, as well as good comprehension and a structured way of working, with a high degree of initiative and service mentality.
  • Proven interdisciplinary work ability and team orientation, as well as a sense of responsibility, high commitment, and willingness to occasional travel.
  • Willingness to learn and proactively take on new tasks and challenges.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • The ideal candidate is pragmatic, objective, proactive, and ambitious.
  • English language proficiency is a must; German language skills are of advantage.
