Role Overview

The Group Accountant role owns the end-to-end accounting for Chaos’s Holding entities and Management company and acts as Global Process Owner (GPO) the group consolidation. This role works closely with colleagues across our 

global business, bringing both technical rigour and a process-improvement mindset to enable our business to move
fast and operate at scale.

Main Responsibilities

  • Own the full accounting cycle for Chaos’s Holdings and Management entities including general ledger, AP/AR, fixed assets, and monthly/quarterly/annual close in line with German GAAP and group reporting requirements across 8 jurisdictions. 

  • Serve as primary contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and statutory filings. 

  • Manage local treasury and payment cycles in coordination with Chaos’s group finance team. 

  • Define and maintain global standards for the consolidation working with teams across Chaos’s international entities to harmonise workflows, close process gaps, and drive automation in NetSuite and connected finance tools. 

  • Actively manage the month-end and year-end closing processes for the entire group to ensure consolidated financial statements are prepared in line with international accounting standards. 

  • Support the Accounting Director with process improvement across finance. Suggest opportunities and ways of improving overall efficiencies and improved ways of working to enable a culture of optimization. 

  • Work with our consolidation software, Lucanet, to ensure data integrity and the effective preparation of consolidated financial statements.

Job requirements

Required Experience

  • Track record in financial accounting within an international corporate environment ideally a technology, software, or SaaS business. 

  • Experience with German statutory requirements and local GAAP is essential. Experience with IFRS is also advantageous.

  • Experience with large international group consolidations and international accounting standards is essential. 

  • Experience of driving process improvement projects across finance to ensure best practices.

Required Skills

  • Advanced command of German GAAP and local statutory reporting 

  • Detailed knowledge of IFRS and group consolidation 

  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP, and comfort with finance tooling in a software product environment 

  • A strong command of LucaNet as a financial consolidation tool is required for this role

  • Fluent in English and German (written and spoken) are mandatory; additional languages are an advantage. 

  • Able to operate confidently across Chaos’s multicultural, multi-time zone teams. 

  • A process-improvement mindset, with the ability to step back from operational tasks, spot inefficiencies, and build scalable solutions that work across the group.

Required Qualifications and Certifications

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a comparable field 

  • A professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA) is advantageous but not required if offset by strong practical experience
