Senior Accountant, CZ & Macedonia (m/f/d)

Role Overview

The Senior Accountant, CZ & Macedonia role owns the end-to-end accounting for Chaos CZ and other Chaos entities and acts as Global Process Owner (GPO) for the Accounts Payable (AP) process. This role works closely with colleagues across our global business, bringing both technical rigour and a process improvement mindset to enable our business to move fast and operate at scale.

Main Responsibilities

• Own the full accounting cycle for Chaos CZ, Macedonia and other Chaos entities including general ledger, AP/AR, fixed assets, and monthly/quarterly/annual close in line with local-GAAP and group reporting requirements.

• Serve as primary contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and statutory filings.

• Manage local treasury and payment cycles in coordination with Chaos’s group finance team.

• Define and maintain global standards for AP processes with teams across Chaos’s international entities to harmonise workflows, close process gaps, and drive automation in NetSuite and connected finance tools.

• Support the Accounting Director with process improvement across finance. Suggest opportunities and ways of improving overall efficiencies and improved ways of working to enable a culture of optimisation.

• Support with accounting activities across the wider international group including ad hoc projects as and when required.

Required Experience

• Track record in financial accounting within an international corporate environment ideally a technology, software, or SaaS business.

• Experience with Czech statutory requirements and local GAAP is essential.

• Experience with large international group consolidations and international accounting standards is essential.

• Experience of intercompany and transfer pricing is essential.

Required Skills

• Advanced command of Bulgarian GAAP.

• Detailed knowledge of IFRS and group consolidation.

• Hands-on experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP, and comfort with finance tooling in a software product environment.

• Fluent in English (written and spoken) and fluent knowledge of Cyrillic are mandatory; additional languages are an advantage.

• Able to operate confidently across Chaos’s multicultural, multi-timezone teams.

• A process-improvement mindset, with the ability to step back from operational tasks, spot inefficiencies, and build scalable solutions that work across the group.

Required Qualifications and Certifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a comparable field.

• A professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, or equivalent) is advantageous but not required if offset by strong practical experience.
