Role Overview

The Senior Accountant owns the end-to-end accounting for a number of Chaos entities and acts as Global Process Owner (GPO) for the Accounts Payable (AP) process. The role works closely with finance colleagues across the global business, combining technical accounting rigour with a process-improvement mindset so the business can move fast and operate at scale. This role requires an experienced accountant with international group exposure, working knowledge of local GAAP, and the ability to spot and fix inefficiencies across entities.

Main Responsibilities

• Own the full accounting cycle for Chaos Czechia, North Macedonia and other Chaos entities, including general ledger, AP/AR, fixed assets, and monthly and annual close, in line with local GAAP and group reporting requirements.

• Act as the primary contact for external auditors, tax advisors and statutory filings.

• Manage local treasury activity and payment cycles in coordination with the group finance team.

• Maintain global standards for the AP process, working with teams across Chaos’s international entities.

• Identify inefficiencies and propose improvements to finance processes and ways of working, supporting the Accounting Director in building a culture of optimisation.

• Support accounting activities across the wider international group, including ad hoc projects as required.

Required Experience

• 5 years of experience in financial accounting within an international corporate environment, ideally in a technology, software or SaaS business.

• Experience working within an international group structure.

• Working knowledge of Bulgarian GAAP.

• Hands-on experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP, and familiarity with finance tooling in a software product environment.

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or a comparable field.

• Experience with intercompany transactions and transfer pricing is an advantage.

• Experience with Czech statutory requirements and local GAAP is an advantage.

• A professional qualification (e.g. ACCA or equivalent) is an advantage and is not required when offset by strong practical experience.

• Works confidently across multicultural, multi-timezone teams, coordinating with finance colleagues in several entities.

• Steps back from operational tasks to spot inefficiencies and builds scalable solutions that work across the group.

• Fluent English, written and spoken, is required. Fluent Cyrillic is required. Additional languages are an advantage.
