UX & Research Efficiency Specialist

***This position is based in Bulgaria with remote/hybrid working options. Applicants must have a work/residence permit for the respective location.***

The UX & Research Efficiency Specialist focuses on improving researcher and designer capacity, streamlining processes, enhancing stakeholder communication, and ensuring high-quality, consistent user experience deliverables. By managing research repositories, design systems, and UX rituals, the specialist supports the Head of UXR and the broader design organization in delivering impactful insights, scalable systems, and aligned team practices. 



Main Responsibilities:

Research Insights Repository Management

  • Create, maintain and optimize the UXR research repository, ensuring reports, documents, and insights are well-structured, intuitive, and easy to access.

  • Increase visibility and findability of insights through robust categorization (products, services, keywords, opportunities, threats).

  • Enable researchers to work more efficiently by improving repository workflows and information architecture.

Research Engagement & Enablement

  • Work with researchers to prepare visually engaging reports, infographics, and other materials to maximize research impact and stakeholder buy-in.

  • Support creation of research artifacts and customer-facing materials such as participation invites, outreach communications, and in-session documents.

Design System Management

  • Facilitate design system initiatives, including engineering and designer enablement, component creation, updates, and documentation.

  • Maintain a high-quality asset library (components, patterns, iconography) with complete documentation.

  • Ensure consistency and accessibility of visual assets across all products and services.

  • Develop a growth plan for the Chaos Eris design system to extend its capabilities and scalability.

UXR Process Management Support

  • Facilitate design sprints, UX review meetings, retrospectives, and continuous feedback loops across the UXR organization.

  • Support planning and implementation of process changes based on identified friction points and opportunities.

  • Flag dependencies, risks, and opportunities that impact alignment and progress.

  • Monitor and support team health, flagging burnout or capacity challenges.

  • Assist in requirement gathering and scope refinement for complex, cross-product initiatives.

UX Quality Assurance (UXQA)

  • Conduct UXQA on key products to ensure quality and consistency of deliverables.

  • Document and flag inconsistencies, and collaborate with PMs, developers, and designers to plan and prioritize fixes.

Job requirements

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Strong design expertise in multiple design disciplines.

  • Strong ability to context-switch and handle multiple responsibilities.

  • Some experience with process management- for example, project intake and planning, resource allocation, UXR rituals facilitation, cross-functional projects.

  • Completed formal DesignOps training. Candidates who have not completed formal DesignOps training (courses, workshops, or a certificate) will not be considered for this role.

  • Proficiency in creating reports, documentation, and visual artifacts for executive communication (presentations, static infographics, videos).

  • Prior experience collaborating with designers, researchers, and PMs on cross-functional projects.

  • High Technical proficiency with: Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, AfterEffects, Adobe Premiere, Google Slides/PowerPoint.

  • Working proficiency with Jira.

Nice-to-have skills:

  • Knowledge of AEC and 3D design industry workflows.

  • Experience with 3D software.

  • Understanding of UX metrics, KPIs, and OKR methodology.

  • Working proficiency with Confluence

As part of the interview process, candidates will be asked to present a Design System case study. The case study topic is open-ended, providing flexibility for candidates to showcase their expertise in areas most relevant to their experience and interests. Potential focus areas include (but are not limited to):

  • Design System Analysis – A deep-dive audit of an existing design system, evaluating structure, consistency, and adoption, followed by the creation of a comprehensive strategy and roadmap for future improvements.

  • Component Creation – Designing and documenting reusable UI components that adhere to accessibility, scalability, and consistency standards.

  • System Setup – Establishing the foundational architecture of a design system, including tokens, styles, and governance models.

  • Pattern Development – Demonstrating how design patterns support usability, efficiency, and cohesive user experiences across products.

  • Motion and Interaction Design – Highlighting the role of animation and interaction principles in creating intuitive and engaging interfaces.

  • Design System Documentation – Developing clear, accessible, and scalable documentation that defines components, usage guidelines, and best practices, ensuring designers, developers, and stakeholders can efficiently adopt and extend the system.

Candidates are encouraged to select a topic that best reflects their skills and design philosophy. The goal is to demonstrate not only design execution but also the thinking process behind decision-making, including problem framing, collaboration with stakeholders, and alignment with user and business needs. A mix of multiple of these topics is also acceptable.
